 ** Please Note: **
  • The following are changes you may make if you feel comfortable doing so.

  • All changes to your website pages should be made carefully.

  • Read entire section of instructions before making changes.

  • If at any time, something is changed that you cannot fix, please do not save the changes. Select cancel in order to revert back to the original content.

 

 

Getting Started:

  • Login to Service Autopilot
  • Go to CRM >> Marketing >> Websites

  • Select your website

 

Edit Settings

  • After selecting your website, you will be at the main website screen that contains your information and web pages
  • Some information in your website is fixed to fill in automatically
    • Ex. [companyname], [phonenumber], [serviceul], [citylist], etc.
  • To edit fixed information that will be displayed in your website, locate the Settings section on the right-hand side of the main screen

  • Select Edit in the corner of that section
  • Review information that is already filled in before making changes

  • If you do not want certain information to be displayed on your site, leave that section blank
  • Estimate and Contact Us Email:
    • Use the email address that you wish the notification email to be sent to
    • May use different email address for each
    • May use same email address for each
  • Editing Services Offered or Cities Served:
    • Each piece of information must be separated by a comma “,” in order to be displayed with a new bullet point in the list
  • If at any time you find that you cannot undo what you have done or you do not know how to fix it, simply click Cancel (do not save) so that all changes will not be saved.
  • If you are satisfied with the changes made, click Save
  • To make the changes live on your website, select the blue Publish button in the upper right-hand corner

Editing/Adding Text:

  • Select the page you wish to edit information on
  • Select text or place cursor where text is to be edited/added
  • Think of text in terms of sections, being careful not to delete pictures or combine sections of text that you wish to keep in different formats
  • Edit/Add/Delete any text
  • Formatting Text:
    • Ex. Normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.
    • Selected text will display what format it is in the toolbar
    • All formats have pre-determined styles and sizes; however, size may be changed

  • To edit text contained in brackets “[…]”, please refer to the Edit Settings
  • If at any time you find that you cannot undo what you have done or you do not know how to fix it, simply click Cancel (do not save) so that all changes will not be saved.
  • If you are satisfied with the changes made, click Save
  • To make the changes live on your website, select the blue Publish button in the upper right-hand corner

 

Changing Pictures:

  • Select the page you wish to edit information on
  • Find the image you wish to replace
  • You can then double click (or right click and select image properties) to open the Image Properties window

  • In the Image Properties window:
    • Select the Upload tab at the top
    • Choose the file you want to upload
    • Click Send it to the Server

  • Once the image is uploaded, you will automatically be taken back to the Image Info tab in the Image Properties Window
  • In the Image Info tab you may adjust the following:
    • Width – Of image in pixels
    • Height – Of image in pixels
    • Border – Thickness of black line around picture
    • Hspace – How much horizontal space is between image and surroundings
    • Vspace – How much vertical space is between image and surroundings
    • Alignment – Determines where the image will “float” on the page
  • It is recommended that you click on the little padlock next to the Width/Height, in order to make sure the image proportions are locked before changing the picture size.

  • If at any time you find that you cannot undo what you have done or you do not know how to fix it, simply click Cancel (do not save) so that all changes will not be saved.
  • If you are satisfied with the changes made, click Save
  • To make the changes live on your website, select the blue Publish button in the upper right-hand corner

 

Adding Pictures:

  • Select the page you wish to edit information on
  • Place the cursor where you want the picture to be on the page
  • Click the Image icon on the editing bar at the top.
    • The icon is to the right of the font size and close to the smiley face icon. It looks like a little picture of a house

  • The Image Properties window will appear after the Image icon has been selected
  • In the Image Properties window:
    • Select the Upload tab at the top
    • Choose the file you want to upload
    • Click Send it to the Server

  • Once the image is uploaded, you will automatically be taken back to the Image Info tab in the Image Properties Window
  • In the Image Info tab you may adjust the following:

Editing/Adding Hyperlinks:

  • Select the page you wish to edit information on
  • Select text where hyperlink is to be edited/added
  • Select the Link icon on the toolbar (if a hyperlink already exists, you may also right click text and select Edit Link)

  • The Link pop-up window will appear
  • If linking to a URL (website page):
    • Info Tab:
      • Enter or edit where you would like the link to direct to in the URL section
      • If linking to one of your other web pages add the name of that page followed by ".html"
        • Ex. nameofpage.html
      • If linking to an external website page – copy URL of website
        • Ex. https://my.serviceautopilot.com

    • Target Tab:
      • Select “New Window (_blank)” in order to make the link open in a new window/tab in your browser
      • Leave it as "<not set>" or "Same Window (_self)" if linking to pages within your own website

    • Upload Tab: Upload a picture to be used as the link
  • If Linking to Email:
    • Add email address that message will be automatically sent to
    • Add email subject
    • Add email message

  • If at any time you find that you cannot undo what you have done or you do not know how to fix it, simply click Cancel (do not save) so that all changes will not be saved.
  • If you are satisfied with the changes made, click Save
  • To make the changes live on your website, select the blue Publish button in the upper right-hand corner

Add A Page:

  • Select the Add Page button in the upper right of the main editing page

  • A new page will appear in the list of web pages

  • Select a page in the list that you would like the new page to resemble
    • Update the Keyword field by selecting Update all pages to match this description

    • Update the Description field by selecting Update all pages to match this description

    • Next select the Source button in the upper left corner of the page editor
    • SourceCode.png
    • This is the code that will allow you to make the new page have the same layout as the rest of your pages
    • Select all the code in the window and copy it by using the cursor to highlight > right-click > copy (or press the Ctrl button + "a" to select all and then Ctrl+"c" to copy)
    • You may wish to past this code into Notepad or some other place to save it just to be safe so you can easily copy it again
    • Once the code is copied, select Cancel (do not Save)
    • Once back at the main editing page, select the New Page from the list of pages
      • The Keyword field and Description field should now be updated
      • Select the Source button as before

      • Delete any code that is in this window
      • Paste the code you copied earlier into this window
      • Select the Source button again to go back to the layout window (what your web page will look like)
      • At this point it is recommended that you go ahead and select Save to save the code for the page layout
    • Select your New Page again to edit it
      • Name the Page Title and Link Text according to what the page is going to be (e.g. Discounts, Cleaning Tips, Testimonies)
        • Link Text will be what shows on the website menu
      • Name the Page Name the same as Page Title and Link Text, but in all lowercase and words separated by a "-" (no spaces)

      • At this point you may edit the wording and/or pictures on the page you have created 
      • If at any time you find that you cannot undo what you have done or you do not know how to fix it, simply click Cancel (do not save) so that all changes will not be saved.
      • If you are satisfied with the changes made, click Save
      • To make the changes live on your website, select the blue Publish button in the upper right-hand corner
