Autopay for the Client Portal is a way for clients to enroll and have their invoices charged for them. This will enable you to charge a client's invoice as soon as the invoice is generated so you do not have to wait on the client to approve or pay the invoice on their own.
Autopay Defined
Service Autopilot considers a client enrolled in Autopay if the client has a credit card on file and their payment method is set to a credit card type. For example, this client is considered enrolled in Autopay because they have a credit card on file and their payment method is Visa.
Important: If a client is enrolled in Autopay, their card will not be charged automatically. You will find their invoices under the invoices to charge tab so you can charge them once they're generated. More info on charging invoices can be found by clicking here.
Autopay from the Client's Perspective
If the Client Portal setting for Autopay is enabled, the client will be able to opt in and out of Autopay on the Client portal using the toggle under their account tab in the client portal. More on Client Portal settings can be found by clicking here.
Note: If the setting for Autopay is not turned on for the client portal, the client will see their account auto-enrolled in Autopay as long as they have a credit card on file and their payment method is a credit card type.
